Overview
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our HR and Payroll team in Lanham, MD. In this role, you’ll help ensure our employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining full compliance with union agreements, tax regulations, and internal policies. You’ll work closely with HR and field operations to support onboarding, employee data accuracy, and payroll reporting across a large, multi-state construction workforce. Process weekly payroll across multiple union agreements using Vista by Viewpoint and Keystyles Self Service Portal or similar ERP Systems. Validate and proof large volumes of time entries to ensure accuracy and compliance. Manage deductions including child support, garnishments, and 401(k) contributions. Prepare and submit certified payrolls and client-required reporting through agency and project portals. Support new hire onboarding by verifying payroll setup and employment data. Maintain compliance with multi-state payroll taxation and collective bargaining requirements. Respond to employee questions related to pay, paystubs, and portal access. Assist with employment verifications (VOEs) and E-Verify processes. Provide backup coverage for full-cycle payroll processing as needed. What You’ll Bring
3+ years of payroll experience; union or construction industry preferred. Experience with Vista by Viewpoint and Keystyle Self Service Portal highly preferred. Solid understanding of payroll compliance, certified payroll, garnishments, and multi-state taxation. Proficiency in Excel and strong attention to detail for data validation and audit accuracy.
