What You’ll Do:
As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you’ll support site work operations using a range of construction machinery. You’ll be responsible for operating equipment safely and efficiently to support the on-time delivery of projects while maintaining and inspecting your machinery to ensure reliability and safety on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, backhoes, loaders, and rollers
- Follow all safety procedures and job specifications for operating machinery
- Perform daily inspections and minor maintenance to keep equipment in peak condition
- Clean and store equipment properly at the end of each shift
- Report mechanical issues or repair needs promptly
- Follow all local, state, and federal safety guidelines
- Actively contribute to a safe and efficient worksite environment
- Work on uneven terrain and in all weather conditions
What We’re Looking For:
Required:
- 2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment
- Solid knowledge of equipment safety and proper operation standards
- Ability to inspect, clean, and conduct minor repairs on machinery
- Strong situational awareness and attention to detail
- Physically able to lift 50–90 pounds frequently and work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Comfortable walking on uneven terrain and climbing on/off equipment safely
- Willingness to perform manual labor as needed
- Experience reading site plans and grading layouts
- Ability to work flexible hours, starting as early as 6:30 am, with possible overtime
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team
