What You’ll Do

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you’ll support site work operations using a range of construction machinery. You’ll be responsible for operating equipment safely and efficiently to support the on-time delivery of projects while maintaining and inspecting your machinery to ensure reliability and safety on-site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, backhoes, loaders, and rollers
  • Follow all safety procedures and job specifications for operating machinery
  • Perform daily inspections and minor maintenance to keep equipment in peak condition
  • Clean and store equipment properly at the end of each shift
  • Report mechanical issues or repair needs promptly
  • Follow all local, state, and federal safety guidelines
  • Actively contribute to a safe and efficient worksite environment
  • Work on uneven terrain and in all weather conditions

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • 2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment
  • Solid knowledge of equipment safety and proper operation standards
  • Ability to inspect, clean, and conduct minor repairs on machinery
  • Strong situational awareness and attention to detail
  • Physically able to lift 50–90 pounds frequently and work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Comfortable walking on uneven terrain and climbing on/off equipment safely
  • Willingness to perform manual labor as needed
  • Experience reading site plans and grading layouts
  • Ability to work flexible hours, starting as early as 6:30 am, with possible overtime
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team
