Job Summary
Located in the nation’s capital, The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is the chief legal office of the District of Columbia. The OAG enforces the laws of the District, defends, and provides legal advice to the District’s government agencies and protects the interests of the District’s residents. This position is located in the Performance Management Unit of the Child Support Services Division.
The Child Support Services Division (CSSD) of the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia is seeking a Program Analyst for a position within the Child Support Services Division, Performance Management Unit. The CSSD goal is to elevate the well‑being of children and the self‑sufficiency of families by delivering first‑rate child support services that help parents meet the financial, medical, and emotional needs of their children. The ideal candidates must be able to provide analytic and program support using established methods and procedures in order to measure and promote the effectiveness of the child support enforcement programs and their performance, productivity, and efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provides program analysis support to CSSD. Serves as staff advisor and also provides support related to analysis, evaluation, communication, and collaboration with other human services and revenue programs in the District with which CSSD interacts.
Analyzes and evaluates the performance and effectiveness of line program operations in meeting established goals and objectives, as well as Federal performance measures.
Evaluates and advises on the organization, special policies, methods, and procedures for providing administrative support systems, such as case records, payment records and histories, policies and procedures, communications, forms, files, directives, and documentation.
Participates in program and administrative interviews, surveys, and cost analyses of programs.
Synthesizes data and evaluates the likelihood and consequences of deficiencies. Provides management with recommendations and tracking of identified problem areas; prioritizes the findings; and proposes systemic actions to be implemented.
Reviews, analyzes, interprets, and monitors data from automated interfaces. Maintains communications with other State systems for the transfer of data information.
Analyzes, reviews, and reconciles incoming, complex, or misdirected payments to ensure that they follow proper distribution rules.
Participates on various committees and task forces to provide input regarding practice, policy, and administrative issues, concerns, and problems.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Applicants must have at least two (2) years of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the CS‑08 grade level, or its non‑District equivalent gained from either the public or private sector.
Working Conditions/Environment Work is generally performed in an office setting.

Tour of Duty: Monday – Friday; 8:15 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
Pay Plan, Series, Grade: CS‑343-09
Salary: The starting salary for this position is negotiable up to $66,130 depending on qualifications and availability of funds.
Collective Bargaining Unit (Union): This position is part of a collective bargaining unit.
Duration of Appointment: Career Service – Regular
Position Designation: Sensitive (subject to enhanced suitability screening). Incumbents must pass a criminal background and consumer credit check; subject to periodic checks.
Residency Preference: Applicants claiming “Residency Preference” must maintain residence in the District of Columbia for a minimum of seven (7) years. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of employment.
