Smart4Chemicals is seeking a Production Engineer to join the team at a high‑performing manufacturing facility focused on continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence.
As a Production Engineer, you will play a critical role in optimizing plant operations, identifying process improvements, and supporting production teams in achieving safety, quality, and cost targets. This is a hands‑on role with strong involvement in troubleshooting, data analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration.
You will contribute to plant trials, lead problem‑solving initiatives, and play a key part in maintaining compliance with environmental and safety standards while driving improvements in productivity and efficiency.
To be considered for this role, you should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and have previous experience in a production or process engineering environment. Experience with process safety management, digital control systems, and SPC tools is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor daily plant operating conditions and use data to drive improvements in safety, productivity, quality, and cost.
Investigate safety, process safety, and environmental incidents; develop and implement corrective actions.
Maintain a detailed downtime database and lead initiatives to reduce equipment‑related disruptions.
Troubleshoot process and equipment performance, supporting plant stability and efficiency.
Plan and execute plant trials aimed at improving throughput, quality, and yield.
Use statistical process control (SPC) tools to identify and address process issues.
Write and update operating procedures and control narratives; assist with personnel training.
Support SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) reporting in collaboration with the Production Manager.
Perform PSM (Process Safety Management) tasks including PSSR completion, PSI updates, and participation in HAZOPs.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (other technical degrees considered with relevant experience).
Proven experience in a production or process engineering role within a manufacturing or chemical environment.
Familiarity with SPC tools, process troubleshooting, and digital control systems.
Willingness to work in a plant environment and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
