The Security Systems Engineer (SSE) is the key resource for designing, implementing, and providing advanced support for client infrastructure within a managed services setting. The SSE handles cybersecurity, server infrastructure, network environments, cloud and hybrid cloud architectures, virtualization, and related technologies. The role requires extensive expertise in security, networking, and Windows infrastructure, ensuring effective delivery of these services to clients. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential for this client‑facing position.

Responsibilities

Support Kelser customers with project delivery, server monitoring, and administration, and pre‑sales engineering support.

Provide service delivery via excellent communication and customer service.

Design and implement network, server, and cloud infrastructure architecture.

Attend and comprehend training.

Achieve higher‑level certifications.

Stay current with emerging technologies and products.

Availability for off‑hours or on‑call assignments.

Perform other duties as determined by Kelser management.

Skills & Qualifications

Previous experience in an MSP or consulting role preferred.

Advanced, hands‑on experience with security compliance (NIST, CMMC), network security best practices, security risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and implementation of security controls for critical systems.

Knowledge of VLANs, VTP, and STP.

Windows Server and Exchange Server support, implementation, administration, and migrations.

Active Directory administration, forest upgrades, and Group Policy management.

Office 365 migrations, including tenant split/merge migrations.

Microsoft Entra hybrid identity management.

Experience with AWS, Azure, and hosted IaaS/PaaS offerings.

Complex ESX support, implementation, and administration.

Remote Desktop Services and RDS profile management (FSLogix).

Intune MDM and Autopilot device deployment.

Network security concepts and tools.

Ability to triage and handle multiple simultaneous workstreams.

Demonstrated troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.

Project documentation (diagramming, written, etc.).

Security certifications: CISSP, CMMC RP, Cisco Security, GSEC, CompTIA Security+.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
