AFN is seeking a Vice President of IT to lead the strategic evolution of its technology ecosystem — driving enterprise-wide innovation, system scalability, and process automation to support the company’s operational excellence and national expansion.
Position Summary The Vice President of IT will serve as the chief architect and strategist for AFN’s technology infrastructure and digital systems. This executive will oversee all aspects of IT strategy, ERP systems, data analytics, cybersecurity, and technology operations across AFN’s national network of production plants, distribution centers, and corporate offices. The VP will ensure that AFN’s IT architecture supports the company’s mission of efficiency, transparency, and traceability across the entire beef supply chain — from the ranch to the retailer.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute AFN’s enterprise technology strategy aligned with corporate growth and operational goals.
Lead the digital transformation of all major business functions — operations, finance, supply chain, production, and logistics.
Collaborate closely with executive leadership to prioritize technology initiatives that enhance efficiency, scalability, and profitability.
Drive innovation through automation, data integration, and advanced analytics across all entities (including Intermountain Packing and Open Range Beef).
ERP, Systems, and Data Infrastructure
Oversee NetSuite ERP architecture, ensuring seamless integration across financial, manufacturing, inventory, and logistics modules.
Partner with the Senior Software Developer (NetSuite) and cross-functional stakeholders to expand system automation and interoperability.
Manage integrations with external systems — WMS, EDI, payroll, CRM, logistics, and retail data platforms.
Establish and maintain data governance standards ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and compliance across all business units.
IT Operations & Security
Direct all IT infrastructure, including cloud services, networking, cybersecurity, backups, and disaster recovery.
Develop and enforce information security policies to safeguard proprietary, financial, and operational data.
Manage hardware and software lifecycle planning, asset management, and vendor relationships.
Ensure uptime, reliability, and system scalability across all production and corporate environments.
Identify manual processes that can be replaced or enhanced through automation, scripting, or AI-driven tools.
Champion the use of real-time data and IoT solutions in plant operations and logistics.
Lead the implementation of data analytics dashboards to deliver actionable insights to operations, sales, and finance leadership.
Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing IT organization capable of supporting a multi-facility national operation.
Establish IT governance processes, budget management, and key performance metrics for accountability and transparency.
Partner with HR and Operations to ensure robust training, user adoption, and support for new systems.
Required Qualifications & Experience
10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, with 5+ years in senior management (Director, VP, or CIO) roles.
Proven success implementing and managing ERP systems (preferably NetSuite) in manufacturing, food production, or supply chain environment.
Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise automation, and integrations.
Experience leading multi-site IT operations supporting manufacturing and logistics.
Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional digital transformation initiatives that deliver measurable ROI.
Technical Expertise
ERP: NetSuite SuiteCloud, SuiteScript, and integration frameworks.
Networking & Security: VPN, firewalls, SIEM, MFA, and endpoint management.
Automation: Celigo, Boomi, MuleSoft, or equivalent integration tools.
Data: Power BI, Tableau, or SuiteAnalytics for performance dashboards and KPIs.
Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and CI/CD best practices.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering (Master’s preferred).
Certifications preferred: CISSP, PMP, ITIL, NetSuite Administrator or SuiteCloud Developer II.
