Goliath Construction Consulting is seeking an experienced
Electrical Purchasing Manager
to lead and optimize the procurement operations for a top-tier electrical contractor.
This role oversees material, equipment, and service purchasing from pre-bid through project completion—ensuring competitive pricing, reliable supply chains, and seamless support for field operations.
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with deep
electrical construction
knowledge, proven
procurement management
experience, and strong vendor negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor purchasing staff, driving performance, efficiency, and accountability.
Manage all phases of electrical material procurement from estimating through closeout.
Develop and execute sourcing strategies to reduce cost and improve delivery timelines.
Oversee bid processes (RFPs/RFQs), ensuring accurate scopes and transparent awards.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors to ensure maximum value.
Collaborate with project management and field teams to align purchasing with schedules.
Maintain accurate procurement records, reports, and financial tracking systems.
Evaluate and manage supplier relationships for quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
7+ years of purchasing experience in
electrical or large commercial construction .
Minimum of 5 years leading a procurement or purchasing team.
Strong understanding of electrical materials, cost control, and contract management.
Proven negotiation, leadership, and relationship‑building skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems (Viewpoint Vista preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
