Goliath Construction Consulting is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
Payroll Manager & HR Generalist
to lead payroll operations and provide key human resources support for a growing commercial mechanical contracting company. This individual will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and support internal teams with exceptional service.
This role will work closely with Human Resources and Accounting to streamline processes, enhance systems, and maintain accurate records. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and passionate about improving efficiency, employee experience, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee weekly payroll processing for hourly, salaried, and contract employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Maintain payroll records, reconcile accounts, and prepare payroll tax filings (941, W-2, 1099, etc.).
Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll questions and educate employees on procedures and systems.
Lead implementation and ongoing management of the ADP payroll system and related integrations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports and conduct regular payroll audits.
Support HR functions, including onboarding, HRIS data entry, I-9 compliance, and background checks.
Administer employee documentation, benefits coordination, OSHA logs, and workers’ compensation claims.
Collaborate with Accounting and HR leadership to improve processes, ensure compliance, and support organizational growth.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, HR, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
Proven payroll management or administration experience, ideally in construction or contracting.
Proficiency with payroll systems (ADP strongly preferred) and strong knowledge of payroll/tax regulations.
Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
