Longwell Partners
About the Role
Longwell Partners is a full-service, pro-democracy communications firm based in Washington, DC. We specialize in high-profile political projects—including The Bulwark, Home of the Brave, and Republican Accountability—and we’re looking for an energetic Digital Media Researcher to support our social media and political communications teams as we prepare for the 2026 midterms.
If you live and breathe political news, thrive in a fast-paced environment, have sharp political instincts, and want to help shape impactful messaging and strategy, we’d love to hear from you!
Responsibilities
Monitor political news and social media constantly to identify opportunities for rapid response.
Conduct media/opposition research to uncover past statements and video clips that expose political actors’ extremism, hypocrisy, and lack of ethics.
Identify and curate timely stories and video content that can be turned into compelling social media content and/or produced ads aligned with our pro-democracy mission, ensuring accuracy and context.
Collaborate with creative and communications teams to transform raw news into powerful, shareable content that aligns with project goals.
Contribute to social media strategy by drafting copy, adapting clips, and posting across platforms. Track the performance of social media posts and provide feedback on what resonates and how to optimize engagement.
Qualifications
Passionate about politics and our pro-democracy mission, following the news obsessively and spotting opportunities before others do.
Sharp political instincts and familiarity with policy, political messaging, and elections.
Proven experience sourcing or creating content for social media or political ads, ideally with strong familiarity in handling video and multimedia/open‑source research.
Ability to juggle multiple news streams, content sources, and rapid‑response opportunities simultaneously.
Familiarity with social media platforms (X/Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook) and emerging trends.
Strong writing skills, capable of drafting sharp, engaging copy for social posts.
A proactive, accountable approach to work, solving problems quickly and holding high standards.
Must be in the office (downtown DC) five days a week; this is not a remote or hybrid opportunity.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in political research, journalism, or social media roles.
Why Join Us?
Competitive salary, commensurate with experience.
100% covered medical insurance.
Metro‑accessible, downtown DC location.
Opportunities to learn, innovate, and advance within a mission‑driven, high‑performance team that values hard work, initiative, and collaboration.
