Digital Advertising Strategist (Political)
Longwell Partners is a full-service, pro-democracy communications firm based in Washington, DC. We specialize in high-profile political projects—including The Bulwark , Home of the Brave , and Republican Voters Against Trump —and we’re looking for an energetic Political Advertising Strategist to help design and deliver targeted digital campaigns that reach influential audiences and drive measurable impact.
If you’re curious, motivated, and eager to learn how smart, data-driven media strategies can advance a pro-democracy mission, we’d love to hear from you.
About the Role This is an ideal entry point for someone excited to learn how targeted digital campaigns shape conversations and influence audiences in today’s political landscape. You’ll gain hands‑on experience running ads that reach large, influential audiences — and help advance our mission.
Working closely with senior members of the political and media teams, you’ll learn how to design, launch, and refine paid campaigns — from the first ad placement to the final performance report. While your primary focus will be on Facebook and YouTube through Meta and Google Ads Managers, you’ll also have opportunities to explore other channels like connected TV.
It’s a hands‑on role where you’ll test strategies, analyze real‑time results, and see your work drive visible results. You’ll collaborate with colleagues who value curiosity, precision, and creativity — and you’ll develop versatile skills in digital advertising, analytics, and communications that can launch a career in media, strategy, or public affairs.
If you’re eager to learn fast, contribute to work that matters, and grow alongside a sharp, mission‑driven team, this is an ideal place to start. Outside of election season, you’ll also contribute to broader political strategy, research, and communications projects.
Your Responsibilities
Help plan, launch, and manage paid campaigns on Meta Ads Manager (Facebook, Instagram, Threads) and Google Ads (YouTube, Search, Display).
Execute campaigns with accurate targeting, budgeting, and scheduling to achieve acquisition and persuasion goals.
Monitor performance and make recommendations to optimize reach and effectiveness.
Prepare reports and insights for internal teams to track results and inform strategy.
Stay up to date on platform policies, ad formats, and best practices.
What We’re Looking For
Some experience or demonstrated interest in digital media, advertising, campaigns, or communications.
Hands‑on familiarity with Meta or Google Ads is a plus, but not required. We’ll provide training.
Strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and curiosity about how messages reach audiences.
Collaborative and eager to learn in a fast‑paced, high‑impact environment.
Ability to be in the office (downtown DC) five days a week. This is not a remote or hybrid opportunity.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Familiarity with additional platforms such as X (Twitter), TikTok, or programmatic DSPs.
Why Join Us
Competitive salary, commensurate with experience
100% covered medical insurance
Metro‑accessible, downtown DC location
Opportunities to learn, innovate, and advance within a mission‑driven, high‑performance team that values hard work, initiative, and collaboration
