The Communications Specialist is a member of the Luminis Health Marketing and Communications team, responsible for developing and executing communications plans that meet client needs and align with the vision and strategic priorities of Luminis Health. The role proactively identifies communication opportunities and challenges, collaborates closely with senior and executive leaders, builds relationships of trust and confidence, and delivers impactful messaging that strengthens internal alignment, employee engagement, and brand reputation.
Essential Job Duties
Proactively partner with executives, senior leaders, and operational teams across Luminis Health to develop and implement comprehensive, results‑driven communications programs and campaigns aligned with organizational goals.
Establish strong, consultative relationships with internal clients by understanding their strategic objectives, challenges, and communications needs, offering expert advice and timely solutions.
Translate business goals into strategic communication plans, ensuring clarity, alignment, and employee engagement. Develop messaging frameworks and tailored plans that support change management, cultural transformation, safety, quality, operational updates, and strategic initiatives.
Lead the creation of high‑impact, audience‑specific communications across multiple channels, including key messages and talking points, executive emails, letters, internal memos, employee e‑newsletters, web and intranet content, presentations, speeches, video scripts, social media content, and crisis and emergency messaging.
Ensure consistency of voice, tone, and brand messaging across all content. Uphold editorial standards and Luminis Health’s mission, values, and RISE culture (Respect, Inclusion, Service, and Excellence).
Monitor and assess communication effectiveness using data, feedback, and analytics; provide actionable insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Serve as a trusted advisor on communication strategy during organizational change, crisis events, or system‑wide initiatives; participate in the on‑call rotation for 24/7 media and social media support as needed.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with the broader marketing and communications team, including media relations, digital strategy, design, and content development teams, to ensure message integration and unified campaign delivery.
Stay informed on internal dynamics, workforce sentiment, and organizational priorities by serving on relevant committees and maintaining open lines of communication with leaders and staff.
Manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
Perform other related duties as assigned; provide cross coverage to other interdepartmental functions, including communications, media relations, social media, design, web, and marketing.

Educational & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, English, or related field.
3‑5 years of experience in communications, corporate internal communications, executive communications preferred.
Proven experience developing and executing communication strategies that align with organizational objectives.
Preferred: Experience in health care or large, mission‑driven organizations.
