Rohde & Schwarz USA’s critical infrastructure business unit is expanding and seeking talent with networking and software system integration experience. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support our growing Air Traffic Control government program business within the technology systems market. Strong candidates will have experience with IP‑based voice communication systems, be goal oriented, and customer focused. The position is based out of our new Production facility in Frederick, Maryland.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain electrical systems, equipment and infrastructure in accordance with scope of work.
Provide technical support and guidance to system architects, engineering and field service teams.
Review documentation such as schematics, diagrams, equipment data sheets, and electrical analysis or studies.
Review application of codes and standards for compliance and correct interpretation of electrical designs.
Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering.
Identify risks and opportunities associated with or driven by design factors.
Analyze trade studies to evaluate alternative design solutions to resolve technical issues.
Perform failure analysis and troubleshoot issues with electrical systems.
Collaborate and communicate with cross‑functional teams.
Conduct production floor support activities as needed.
Qualifications
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, or a relevant engineering degree.
Experience with electrical/power systems, power cabling, electrical installations, control systems and/or components design.
Familiarity with electrical standards and codes such as IEEE, IEC, NFPA, and NEC.
Proficient in relevant business tools including MS Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint.
Experience with requirement management processes and tools.
Excellent technical writing skills.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Good communication and customer interface skills (verbal and written).
Ability to operate with considerable autonomy and minimal supervision.
Ability to travel throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, up to 20%.

The total compensation for this position is $128K–$195K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job‑related skills.
