Rohde & Schwarz USA’s critical infrastructure business unit is expanding and seeking talent with networking and software system integration experience. This opening is for a Systems Engineering Manager to support our Air Traffic Control (ATC) programs. Strong candidates will have experience with IP-based voice communication systems, be goal oriented, and customer focused. The position is based in the DC/MD/VA area, from our new facility in Frederick, Maryland.
Responsibilities
Manage and lead a high functioning systems engineering team
Collaborate closely with ATC engineering and program teams
Provide input to program schedules, budgets and management plans
Manage the design, integration, and deployment of voice communications systems / subsystems for R&S ATC projects
Lead efforts for creating and maintaining technical documentation according to customer requirements.
Translate customer needs into requirements and competitive solutions maximizing R&S content.
Prepare regular reports on project progress, issues encountered, and resolutions implemented.
Participate in communication with customers and R&S product design team.
Work closely with the product engineering teams based in Europe and North America.
Qualifications
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or relevant engineering degree.
First experience with systems for critical infrastructure customers.
Proficient in relevant business tools including MS Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint.
Experience with requirement management processes and tools.
Good technical writing skills.
Good communication and customer interface skills (verbal and written).
Ability to operate with considerable autonomy and minimal supervision.
Ability to travel throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, up to 30%.
In order to be considered, external candidates must be a US person capable of receiving a U.S. Government public trust clearance.
Compensation The total compensation for this position is $155K-$220K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
