Position Overview

The Director of Sales – Automation is a leadership role responsible for managing a sales team focused on developing and executing strategic sales initiatives that drive revenue growth and market expansion for industrial automation and control systems solutions. This individual will have personal goals for growth as well as sales team goals on delivering automation control systems based on PLC’s, VFD’s, Servos, Visualization, Robotics, Safety, and related services to industrial and commercial customers. Key Responsibilities

Market Analysis: Have experience in the industrial automation and control system markets, and understand market dynamics, competitors, and opportunities. Identify gaps and use resources as needed to research target markets for the company’s solutions. Sales Strategy: Create and execute sales plans to grow in target markets, acquire customers, and increase market share. Develop focused sales messages to key customers and decision-makers. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain client relationships in the target markets. Understand and address their needs and challenges. Identify key decision makers. Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with marketing to create campaigns and materials that showcase our products. Utilize trade shows, online platforms, and industry publications. Quoting Responsibilities: Handle the full quoting process from initial inquiry through to post-sale support, including scope review and costing details. Utilize other team members to achieve goals. Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring favorable terms and resolving issues during the sales process. Training and Support: Provide training and support to staff, distributors, external reps, and end-users on product usage and promotion. Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyse sales, market trends, and customer feedback to refine strategies. Manage sales forecasts, pipelines, and reporting metrics using CRM and other sales tools. Networking and Industry Engagement: Represent the company at industry events to build connections and enhance visibility. Management: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing sales team focused on achieving and exceeding revenue targets. Manage inside and outside sales team members. Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, marketing, and product development teams to align sales goals with company objectives. What We Need You To Have

8+ years of sales experience in industrial automation 3+ years in a leadership role Strong sales technical knowledge of automation technologies such as PLCs, VFD’s, Servos, Visualization, robotics and control systems Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a B2B environment Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or 5+ years equivalent experience in industry What We’d Love For You To Have

Extensive experience working with OEMs, system integrators, and industrial end-users Extensive experience working with purchasers of industrial control systems and services including industrial manufacturers, general contractors and EPC’s Familiarity with Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider Electric, ABB or similar platforms Strong network within automation and manufacturing sectors Additional Information
