The Director of Sales – Automation leads a high-performing sales team focused on delivering automation control systems based on PLCs, VFDs, Servos, Visualization, Robotics, Safety, and related services to industrial and commercial customers. Key Responsibilities
Market Analysis: Understand industrial automation and control system markets, competitor dynamics, and opportunities. Identify gaps and research target markets. Sales Strategy: Create and execute sales plans to grow in target markets, acquire customers, increase market share, and develop focused sales messages for key customers. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain client relationships, understand needs, identify key decision makers, and provide full quoting and post‑sale support. Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with marketing to create campaigns and materials that showcase our products; utilize trade shows, online platforms, and industry publications. Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate and manage contracts, ensuring favorable terms and resolving sales process issues. Training and Support: Provide training and support to staff, distributors, external reps, and end‑users on product usage and promotion. Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze sales, market trends, and customer feedback; refine strategies and manage forecasts, pipelines, and reporting metrics using CRM and other sales tools. Networking and Industry Engagement: Represent the company at industry events, build connections, and enhance visibility. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow a high‑performing sales team, managing both inside and outside sales team members. Collaboration: Align sales goals with engineering, marketing, and product development teams. What We Need You To Have
8+ years of sales experience in industrial automation. 3+ years in a leadership role. Strong sales technical knowledge of automation technologies such as PLCs, VFDs, Servos, Visualization, robotics, and control systems. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a B2B environment. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or 5+ years equivalent industry experience. What We’d Love You To Have
Extensive experience working with OEMs, system integrators, and industrial end‑users. Experience with purchasers of industrial control systems and services, including manufacturers, general contractors, and EPCs. Familiarity with Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider Electric, ABB, or similar platforms. Strong network within automation and manufacturing sectors. Additional Information
Travel Requirements – 30-40% Domestic Travel. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship). Employment Details
