What We're Doing Become a part of something IMPACT‑ful! Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation’s defense against ballistic missile attacks. The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat.

The Work Responsibilities

Manage Bill‑of‑Materials, new part requests, part objects, and part attributes in a Product Lifecycle Management System

Coordinate efforts to identify, resolve, and/or mitigate Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) issues on selected bill of materials

Perform trade‑study analysis for obsolescence resolutions including cost‑benefits, lifetime buy benefits, technical data modification effort, system impact, non‑recurring engineering effort and complexity factor

Canvas manufacturers and vendors for obsolescence information related; maintain open, regular communication to ensure proactive obsolescence identification

Research BOMs, engineering parts lists, to develop a comprehensive database

Identify and document critical obsolescence data elements for items that impact longevity of LRUs and piece‑parts

Work with design engineers in selection and application of Electrical, Electronics, Electro‑Mechanical, Electro‑Optical (EEEE) parts, including Microcircuits, Connectors, Passive Devices, and Printed Circuit Boards

Work with manufacturing and Component vendors to resolve qualification, producibility, and test issues with parts and Circuit Card Assemblies

Support Supply Chain with component procurement requirements, selection of suppliers, and procurement issues

Support Program Subcontractors with EEEE Part requirements interpretation and review of Subcontractor Data Requirements Lists (SDRLs)

Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/teams comprised of all experience levels
