Desk Clerk Position in Property Management, full‑time non‑exempt, $22.00 per hour, located at 681 Florida San Francisco, CA 94110. Schedule Monday‑Friday 4:00 pm – 12:00 pm.

Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Manager or General Manager, the Desk Clerk screens visitors, maintains site safety, and provides administrative support at TNDC properties.

Essential Duties

Screen all visitors and confirm they are authorized guests of building residents.

Ensure visitors are escorted by tenants at all times.

Respond to emergencies as needed.

Maintain an accurate, confidential building log.

Fill out incident reports as necessary.

Report violations of house rules and rental agreements.

Participate in required online and in‑person trainings.

Oversee the front entry and lobby to ensure cleanliness and security; perform minor janitorial duties as needed.

Provide administrative support to the Assistant Manager: open and time‑stamp mail and invoices, prepare check requests, recertification packets, and filing.

Answer phones and operate the intercom system as needed.

Provide information to tenants, visitors, and applicants concerning housing.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required Skills

Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Read, write, and communicate in English.

Follow directions and work independently.

Willingness to be on‑call, with access to a phone.

Good judgment and conflict‑resolution ability.

Honesty and dependability.

Sensitivity to a diverse, low‑income population.

Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion regarding resident issues.

Strong customer service skills.

Physical Requirements

Typing, writing, reading, and similar tasks.

Exert physical effort moving around buildings, climbing stairs, standing or sitting for periods of time.

Visual acuity to inspect buildings and review documents.

Hearing acuity sufficient to use the telephone and communicate with residents and staff.

Environmental Adaptability

Work in an office environment and in and outside a variety of residential buildings as needed.

Tactfully manage stress.

Mathematical Ability

Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division as needed per job duties.

Judgment and Situational Reasoning

Use independent judgment in non‑routine situations, such as handling disturbances.

Good judgment and conflict resolution.

Language and Communication

Communicate effectively with coworkers, staff at all levels, and residents, both verbally and in writing.

Understand changes in policy, methods, and operations as they apply to the desk clerk position.

Respond appropriately in pressure situations; possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Read, write, and communicate in English.

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.

Good organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Experience in an affordable housing environment.

Experience or familiarity with the Tenderloin Neighborhood.

Experience in conflict resolution, crisis intervention, or resident relations.

Proficiency in a language other than English (e.g., Spanish, Cantonese, Russian).
