The HR Generalist oversees daily HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, and support for payroll, benefits, and leave. This role ensures alignment with employment laws and organization’s mission-driven values, with a focus on culturally responsive practices. Responsibilities
Lead full-cycle recruitment and onboarding Maintain personnel records and HRIS systems Support payroll, benefits, and leave administration Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies Assist with employee relations, investigations, and disciplinary actions Facilitate training, recognition, and morale-building initiatives Monitor HR trends and recommend best practices Qualifications
2+ years of progressive HR experience Bachelor’s degree or HR certificate Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms Commitment to organization’s mission and cultural responsiveness Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, politically sensitive environment Preferred Qualifications
5+ years HR experience Advanced degree in HR, OD, psychology, or related field Experience in nonprofit or community-based organizations Employment type
