Provider Training Specialist Join the State of Colorado as a Provider Training Specialist within the Department of Health Care Policy & Financing (HCPF). The role focuses on developing, implementing, and delivering training programs for Medicaid and child health plan providers.

About the Department HCPF oversees Health First Colorado (Colorado's Medicaid Program) and the Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+). The mission is to improve healthcare equity, access, and outcomes while saving cost for Colorado residents.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver training materials and programs on best practices for providers and department staff.

Assist in editing and reviewing all communications and publications, including webpage postings.

Provide support to Fiscal Agent Operations in areas such as call center, claims, third-party liability, finance, provider screening, enrollment, and approval.

Interact with providers, staff, and the Fiscal Agent to research problems, develop resolutions, track issues, and resolve inquiries.

Maintain, coordinate, and implement training programs covering eligibility, provider enrollment, claims processing, web portal, and Colorado interChange system functionality.

Research, monitor, and analyze current laws, rules, regulations, and system operations to anticipate how upcoming changes will impact policies and training.

Review and edit provider communications such as emails, bulletins, and newsletters.

Assist with creating content based on provider feedback.

Residency Requirement Applicants must be residents of the State of Colorado at the time of submitting the application.

Minimum Qualifications Two pathways qualify for this position:

Experience Only:

Six (6) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position.

Education and Experience:

A combination of related education and/or relevant experience equivalent to six (6) years. Appropriate education substitutes for required experience on a year-for-year basis:

Associate degree = 2 years

Bachelor’s degree = 4 years

Master’s degree = 6 years

Doctorate or juris doctorate = 7 years

Preferred Qualifications

Prior state experience related to the duties of this position

Experience with Zoom

Experience creating content

Experience in technical writing, communications, or publications

Experience in healthcare
