The Role
We are looking for a well‑trained, commercially‑savvy lawyer to join Overjet’s legal department as the second legal hire. You will partner with the VP of Legal and oversee all legal affairs, helping build a legal function from the ground up.
Responsibilities
Lead and negotiate enterprise SaaS agreements and related contracts with customers, partners and vendors.
Advising on regulatory matters (HIPAA, state laws, emerging AI rules) and building compliance frameworks.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with People, Product, Sales, and Customer Success to balance legal and commercial considerations.
Help design and implement processes that scale the legal department.
Qualifications
3–6 years as an attorney, preferably with BigLaw in‑house experience at a high‑growth company.
JD from a top law school and current bar admission (NY, CA, or MA preferred).
Strong corporate and contract law background with exceptional drafting skills.
In‑depth knowledge of corporate governance, employment law, commercial transactions, healthcare regulatory law, AI, and/or compliance.
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Startup mindset: action bias, scrappy, willing to fail forward and a sense of humor.
