The Role: Advisor, Importer Side Trade Compliance Alongside our international trade compliance advisor, we're seeking an advisor with deep domain expertise on the importer side of international trade compliance and customs operations (not logistics / forwarding side). You must have worked in an import compliance role at an importing company (not a 3PL or freight forwarder) so that you understand the actual pain points, decisions and workflows of the importing organisation.
What You Will Share Insights on
The structure and evolution of global trade and compliance networks from the importer's perspective
Key processes and decision points that shape cross-border import activity in importing companies
Import-side industry constraints, inefficiencies and areas of systemic friction
Emerging opportunities where advanced technology data infrastructure and AI could have outsized impact on importers
This is a strategic very low-touch and flexible advisory role.
Commitment
Approximately 1 hour per week via short calls, asynchronous feedback or quick reviews.
Initial phase: 2-3 hours per week for a few weeks to help our team gain deep visibility into importing workflows and real-world import compliance challenges.
After the initial phase your role will shift into periodic strategic guidance and touch-points as needed.
Equity-based position, not salaried or consulting.
Ideal for experienced import compliance professionals who believe in long‑term transformation of the importer side of trade.
Remote‑friendly flexible schedule. Hybrid or in‑person optional if collaboration or sessions are valuable.
Commitment is light and designed to integrate with your existing professional responsibilities.

You have significant experience in import-side customs operations regulatory compliance tariff / HTS classification ISF post‑entry broker-management from the importer's side (not freight forwarding or logistics).
You are open‑minded about new technology especially AI automation and data systems.
