Job Overview:
The Manager – IT Systems leads teams responsible for server, host, database, telecommunications, and storage infrastructure. The role provides support, project oversight, and production activities while collaborating across business and technology groups. Responsibilities include business continuity and disaster recovery planning, infrastructure forecasting, monitoring, configuration management, and budgeting. The role also serves as the Site Reliability Manager (SRE), supporting both on‑premise and Azure cloud environments using DevOps and Infrastructure as Code practices.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage teams across five IT specialties, ensuring accurate work and problem resolution.
Assign and prioritize systems‑related tasks and projects to support operations and implementations.
Foster a positive work environment through coaching, development, and morale‑building.
Provide technical leadership for hybrid infrastructure integration (on‑premise and Azure).
Apply DevOps and SRE methodologies with automation and telemetry best practices.
Plan and coordinate hardware/software purchases and implementations.
Oversee network architecture and system configuration reviews.
Develop and maintain operating procedures, documentation, and disaster recovery plans.
Direct large‑scale computing projects across multiple technologies and platforms.
Ensure software/hardware version control, patching, and security compliance.
Act as liaison between departments for support and project coordination.
Enforce system and security standards in collaboration with IT Security.
Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, including BSA/AML laws.
Participate in management on‑call rotation.
Identify and mitigate risks related to job responsibilities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
7+ years in senior IT administrator roles.
3+ years in project management and personnel supervision.
Proven ability to plan enterprise‑wide technologies and support change.
Expertise in Windows and Azure operating systems in enterprise environments.
Proficiency in DevOps automation and Site Reliability Engineering.
Expertise in Active Directory, Azure AD Connect, group policies, and PowerShell scripting.
Experience with vSphere, Citrix XenApp, Linux Red Hat, HP OpenVMS, and Microsoft SQL (on‑prem and Azure).
Experience with enterprise storage systems.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.
Technical guidance and problem‑solving expertise.
Manual dexterity for operating hardware and tools.
