Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a candidate to provide I&C engineering and design for water and wastewater facility projects. The candidate will serve as the lead I&C engineer on projects for water and wastewater facilities.
Responsibilities
Preparing Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), control system network diagrams, control panel wiring diagrams, equipment layouts, and installation details.
Supervision and mentorship of less experienced staff.
Coordinating with other disciplines (process/mechanical, structural, architectural, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and site civil).
Performing quality reviews of BIM models, Revit families, and CAD‑based files used in the production of contract documents.
Inspection, testing, and approval of I&C work provided by contractors at water and wastewater facilities.
Qualifications and Skills Required
Knowledge of water/wastewater or industrial process instrumentation and equipment.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
7–12 years of experience in instrumentation and controls engineering and design and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
Preferred
Multiple years of experience performing I&C design for public‑sector water/wastewater clients.
Understanding of processes and equipment for various water/wastewater facilities, pump stations, and conveyance systems.
Experience mentoring junior engineers, designers, and other staff.
Experience communicating and coordinating with clients.
Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Plant 3D.
Education Requirements
Must have a PE License, or ability to obtain within one year of employment.
