Allstate is seeking a seasoned editorial and content strategist to shape how we tell our story today and in the future. This hybrid or remote role will set the vision for content that connects with people where they are and how they want to engage.
The position requires frequent travel to Chicago (minimum 12 in‑person connections per quarter).
Key Responsibilities
Define the enterprise editorial and multimedia content strategy and executional process to establish an Allstate content center of excellence.
Build and manage an omnichannel editorial calendar, including internal, earned, social and owned channels.
Identify and socialize content trends, best practices, emerging technologies, growth strategies and audience insights across platforms and channels; leverage these findings to drive innovation and growth opportunities.
Ideate, develop, produce and optimize a drumbeat of engaging always‑on digital content, thought leadership, campaigns, series and initiatives across touchpoints, ensuring each is optimized for the specific audience and channel.
Explore AI‑driven tools that create and personalize quality content at scale while ensuring human oversight that maintains authenticity, originality and creativity.
Partner with teams across HR, Technology, Government Relations and other functions to align content plans directly to enterprise priorities.
Collaborate with analytics and insights teams to track and translate performance, measure impact and adjust strategy and tactics accordingly.
Manage agency partners and budgets, providing direction and holding partners accountable for quality, results and innovative ideas.
Establish, lead and mentor an editorial team, helping them stretch their skills and thrive in a fast‑changing environment.
Encourage a culture of curiosity and experimentation where creativity and innovation thrive.
Qualifications
12+ years in communications, editorial and/or content strategy.
Direct, experience leading and developing people.
Strong editorial strategist who can connect brand, business goals and audience needs.
Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior leaders and cross‑functional partners.
Familiarity with evolving content ecosystems, especially the role of AI, personalization and platform algorithms.
Comfortable using data and performance metrics to guide decisions and prove impact.
A natural leader with a track record of building teams and inspiring talent.
Creative, curious and adaptable – continuously monitoring the next wave of content and sharing insights with others.
Supervisory Responsibility This job will have supervisory responsibilities.
