Technical Operations Manager
is responsible for managing day-to-day critical technical projects ensuring stability, scalability, and performance of systems and services, while leading a team of engineers and technicians. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership and project management skills to keep the project on track. This is a
hands-on management
role suited for someone who thrives in a startup environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and aims to build scalable systems at the intersection of
hardware, embedded systems, software, and operational logistics . Key Responsibilities
Lead efforts to streamline system testing, manage infrastructure bridging R&D and production, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure production success Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure organizational efficiency and productivity; maintain infrastructure and work environment Lead the implementation and maintenance of production environments, infrastructure, and tooling; troubleshoot complex technical and logistical issues to keep production on track Develop and support program schedule and execution (e.g., Gantt chart development) Develop and support technical documentation to ensure product readiness Support technical aspects of contract manufacturing, including BOM management, test automation integration, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) feedback loops Establish and manage Functional Circuit Testing (FCT), traceability, and database with Contract Manufacturer Troubleshoot issues during New Product Introduction (NPI) and ongoing production Facilitate communication and act as liaison with OptiGrid, Contract Manufacturer, and customers Logistics administration for managing customer forecasts QA management of Corrective Action Requests (CARs) and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) with customers and suppliers Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field 5+ years of experience in technical operations, manufacturing engineering, or hardware development, ideally in a power electronics or hardware startup environment Deep understanding of prototyping, PCB assembly, power test setups, and product qualification Experience managing hardware technical teams in production environments Strong organizational skills with a track record of building and improving operational processes Familiarity with ERP systems, inventory tools, and BOM management Experience scaling production in an early-stage company Seniority level
