The M/E Engineer 3 will complete increasingly complex mechanical, electrical and field construction activities. This position will be responsible for collecting and assembling data, developing estimates and generating systems and bid analysis. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn. Responsibilities
Autonomy and decision-making: Make decisions on routine matters, provide recommendations to supervisor, and refer all exceptions to supervisor. Participate in core M/E engineering activities, including safety and quality plans and culture; support injury-free project environments. Develop budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating systems. Assist in reviewing mechanical and electrical options as part of preconstruction and complete systems analysis for select projects. Develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work to coordinate during the bid process. Assist in bid analysis and input during subcontractor selection. Help develop sequencing requirements of various systems to meet schedule requirements. Review design documents to identify potential quality problems and assist in constructability review reports. Perform job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met and work is completed in a quality and timely manner. Assist with shop drawing/submittal process in compliance with contract documents. Assist with commissioning processes including pre-functional checklists, functional testing procedures and actual functional testing. Support and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion in JE Dunn, and understand the policy of non-discrimination. Key Responsibilities – Core
ME ENGINEER FAMILY – CORE: Learns and participates in safety and quality plans; supports injury-free environments. Completes entry-level and routine mechanical, electrical and field construction activities. Develops budgetary M/E estimates from program/schematic data. Reviews options, conducts systems analysis, and provides value engineering suggestions. Coordinates mechanical and electrical scopes during the bid process. Develops sequencing requirements and provides scheduling input. Reviews design documents to identify quality problems; helps develop quality control programs. Performs job inspections to ensure quality and timely completion. Develops pre-functional checklists and functional testing procedures; verifies contractor’s functional testing performance. Reviews and approves shop drawings prior to submission to design team. Generates and issues a Commissioning Plan for approval; verifies deficiencies are corrected and submits commissioning documentation. Mentors less experienced coworkers and contributes to process improvements. Leads and promotes diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn. Key Responsibilities – Additional Core

Ability to perform work accurately, completely and in a timely manner. Strong verbal and written communication skills (intermediate). Proficiency in MS Office (intermediate). Ability to read and understand plans, drawings and specifications. Develops proficiency in basic JE Dunn M/E tools and software. Knowledge of means and methods of construction management. Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally. Education
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering or related field (Required). Equivalent relevant experience will be considered in lieu of the above. Experience
5+ years construction and/or engineering experience (Preferred). Working Environment
