Position: Program Specialist (Undergraduate Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activity)
The Johns Hopkins Krieger School of Arts and Sciences (KSAS) is seeking a Program Specialist to manage Undergraduate Research Initiatives for the Office of Undergraduate Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activity (URSCA). URSCA’s Undergraduate Research Initiatives include undergraduate research grants and fellowships, curricular research programs, internal and external conferences and symposia, and residential summer research programs for visiting undergraduates.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for goal setting and planning to meet program objectives.
Develop, maintain, and oversee timelines for all special activities, ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
Develop budgets and manage program expenses, projections, and reporting.
Plan and manage outreach activities and internal events, working with vendors and internal resources as needed.
Create, develop, and expand communications via websites, social media channels, and publication materials as needed.
Represent the program internally and externally.
Ensure timely, accurate and appropriate reporting of program activities.
Monitor, evaluate and implement business practices and procedures to support day‑to‑day operational needs.
Review and evaluate program needs, while maintaining cost‑effectiveness.
Manage and oversee the timely compilation of annual reports and work plans.
May supervise and/or oversee operational staff with program responsibilities.
Other duties as assigned.
Additional Duties
Arrange all aspects of travel, including airfare, lodging, and car services for URSCA program staff, faculty, students, and invited guests; communicate schedules and logistics.
Process receipts and coordinate payment processes for office purchasing card and external vendors.
Prepare meeting agendas and materials and coordinate scheduling, location, and AV needs.
Serve as point of contact for students, faculty, staff, administrators, and external parties interested in working with URSCA.
Provide complex administrative support for the office’s existing projects and new initiatives.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
May be asked to work nights and/or weekends to support office events on an infrequent basis.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree.
Two years of related experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience in accordance with the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in higher education.
Proficient use of SAP and Concur.

Compensation and Benefits Starting Salary Range: $53,800 - $74,100 - $94,400 annually (commensurate with experience). Full-time, Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm. Hybrid/Homewood Campus. Salary based on Johns Hopkins University salary range; additional benefits include health, life, career, and retirement plans. Employment Type & Salary Full‑time. Role/Level/Range: ATP/03/PC. FLSA Status: Exempt. Employee group: Full Time. Salary range as above.
