Position Eligibility This role is reserved exclusively for current employees of Workers Federal Credit Union (WCU). External candidates will not be considered.

Assistant Vice President (AVP)

or

Vice President (VP)

may be considered for candidates who meet the criteria listed below:

Current AVP or VP title within WCU and desire to retain that designation.

Demonstrated leadership in business or commercial lending.

Track record of exceeding business development, lending, and deposit growth goals.

Active involvement in strategic initiatives or cross‑functional projects.

Completion of internal credit training and advanced commercial credit analysis experience.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Business Development & Networking:

Identify and pursue new opportunities to grow small business loans and deposits.

Conduct proactive outreach to local businesses with tailored financial solutions.

Establish and maintain strategic partnerships to enhance community visibility and engagement.

Represent the credit union at public events, chamber meetings, trade shows, and industry functions.

Build relationships with local real estate professionals, brokers, and affiliated organizations.

Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.

Member Engagement & Product Education:

Grow and retain member deposit accounts.

Structure small business loans in accordance with credit policies and member needs.

Educate members on the full suite of credit union products and services.

Conduct regular business reviews to ensure member satisfaction and identify deeper engagement opportunities.

Sales & Goal Achievement:

Drive contact growth for the Commercial Banking Team to meet or exceed performance goals.

Develop and execute outreach strategies to exceed sales targets.

Track and report progress toward deposit, lending, and investment product goals.

Ensure loan volume, fee income, and deposit alignment with established targets.

Continuous Learning & Compliance:

Pursue ongoing education to enhance sales effectiveness and industry knowledge.

Stay current on all commercial products and regulatory requirements.

Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of application, underwriting, and disclosure procedures.

Collaborate with Compliance on marketing materials and ensure regulation compliance.

Maintain thorough knowledge of all credit union commercial banking products, services, and programs.

Other Duties:

Adhere to all WCU policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Participate in departmental and organizational projects as required.

Perform additional tasks or responsibilities as required.

Maintain confidentiality of member and credit union information.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.

Experience

Minimum of 3 years in business development and community engagement.

Commercial credit training or business banking credit analysis experience preferred; participation in WCU internal credit training program required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Business acumen: strong understanding of financial products, lending practices, and market dynamics.

Relationship building: trust and rapport with members, prospects, team, and community stakeholders.

Sales and negotiation skills: presenting solutions, handling objections, and closing transactions aligned with client needs.

Strategic thinking: anticipate market trends, develop proactive outreach strategies, and drive business growth.

Regulatory and compliance awareness: knowledge of lending regulations and commitment to compliance.

Work Environment Office setting with frequent public events and community gatherings. Requires regular computer, telephone, and office equipment use.

Physical Demands

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.

Lift and carry promotional materials up to 25 pounds.

Frequent use of computer and other office equipment requiring manual dexterity.

Travel to various locations as needed.
