Job Summary The Senior Shipping Clerk is a hands-on role responsible for completing documentation required for domestic and international shipments and coordinating shipment transportation. The successful candidate must have experience with international shipping requirements. Key Responsibilities Generate and manage all shipping documents (e.g., shipping labels, packing slips, bills of lading) within the ERP system and third-party software. Prepare products, spare parts, return parts, and other items for shipment following established packaging procedures (crating, boxing, bundling, wrapping, strapping, labeling). Prepare international and domestic shipping documents and schedule freight pick-ups. Utilize UPS and FedEx systems to ship outbound shipments. Coordinate export compliance issues and domestic shipping issues with shippers, including shipment tracking and lost freight issues. Operate and maintain packing equipment safely to minimize damage to units/products in shipment. Retrieve products/units from Finished Goods according to the pack slip. Stay current on international export requirements (new commodity codes, customs regulations) to ensure legal compliance. Maintain and order shipping supplies necessary to sustain shipping readiness. Conduct monthly inventory of Finished Goods. Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work area. Must be able to work overtime as required. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or GED is required. 5 years of shipping experience. 1 year of international shipping experience. Desired Qualifications Experience with letters of credit, denied entity checks, and generating international documentation (e.g., commercial invoices, shipper letters of instruction). Ability to operate warehouse machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and lift devices. Good computer skills (Microsoft Office, basic Excel) and math skills. Must be able to work overtime as required. Ability to work with minimum supervision and be a strong team player. Good communication skills (written and verbal) and excellent organization and administrative skills. Work Environment This job operates in a warehouse environment. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently stands for long periods, walks, uses hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
