Overview The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) seeks a generalist in British texts and/or literature before 1660 for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor position in the English Department, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. UCCS offers a diverse and inclusive learning environment that fosters innovation, growth and holistic development of its students.
Salary / Pay Range Generally starting at $65,000 per academic year. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications. This position is exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.
Work Location On‑Site in Colorado Springs.

Summary The English Department seeks a faculty member who will contribute to new and existing undergraduate courses, including senior seminars. The successful candidate will teach core, elective and advanced courses and may teach Chaucer and Shakespeare. Interest in teaching in different modalities, including online or hybrid, is preferred.
Essential Functions
Teaching: Conduct a variety of core, elective, and advanced undergraduate courses in English.
Research: Conduct original research in British texts and/or literature before 1660, including publishing and disseminating that research.
Service: Participate actively in department, college, and university service tasks and engage in service to the profession.
Qualifications
PhD in English or a closely related field required by the start date.
Teaching experience at the college level required.
A promising research agenda is required.
Ability to teach Chaucer and Shakespeare is preferred.
Tentative Search Timeline
