Job Description Johnson & Johnson is hiring for a
Manager, Safety Project Scientist
to join our team in Horsham, PA; Raritan, NJ; or Titusville, NJ. The Manager will manage the implementation, training, and support of key strategic Global Safety Strategy and Risk Management (GSSRM) initiatives. This role collaborates with Medical Safety Officers (MSOs), Safety Analysis Scientists (SASs), Aggregate Report Scientists (ARS), Risk Management Strategy Leads (RMSLs), Signal Management Group (SMG), and GSSRM leadership, as well as cross‑functional partners across Clinical, Biostats, Clinical Statistics and Programming, Local Medical Safety, and relevant Pharmacovigilance vendors.
Responsibilities
Manage multiple, complex, GSSRM‑initiated cross‑functional projects and activities including planning, tracking, and risk identification and mitigation.
Own business processes and provide training to respective stakeholders.
Collaborate with other project team members and J&J IM colleagues across functions and organizations.
Serve as subject‑matter expert and audit/inspection lead for relevant processes, where applicable.
Lead vendor/3rd‑party resources, as appropriate.
Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Drive the project implementation plan and align deliverables with impacted stakeholders to ensure timely execution, training, and support.
Influence and collaborate with GSSRM and cross‑functional organizations.
Lead and organize project teams.
Communicate effectively across disciplines to keep GSSRM leadership and key stakeholders informed of the status of all ongoing activities and any issues or conflicts that arise, and mitigation actions taken.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare‑related or Biomedical Science (3+ years industry experience or equivalent).
Working knowledge of medical safety and scientific concepts.
Proven success leading projects or project management experience, 2+ years preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively present and communicate with internal and external customers.
Excellent computer proficiency (e.g., MS Office, SAP).
Excellent analytical skill to identify gaps and root causes of issues and to think creatively to develop solutions.
Must be able to work independently with some supervision to meet tight deadlines and maintain a positive attitude.
Uses knowledge of project management tools and practices.
Strong scientific and project insights to understand how decisions impact downstream processes (strong analytical and quantitative skills).
Additional Requirements
Change management experience, influence skills, and the ability to work effectively and drive alignment in a complex matrixed environment through strong communication.
Ability to partner with and influence others without direct authority; build consensus and look for collaboration at all levels across a matrix environment.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is: $115,000 – $197,800.
