Job Summary The Warehouse Team Lead supports the Warehouse Manager by coordinating operational functions such as picking, staging, double checking, loading and shipping of all products for procurements, transfers, customer orders and inventory replenishment. This role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of product at all times.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Assists with opening and closing responsibilities, adjusting schedule based on business needs.
Oversees daily operations in the Manager’s absence to ensure smooth workflow and timely response to issues.
Responds to after‑hours or emergency branch openings as assigned.
Leads by example in maintaining high standards of safety, productivity, quality, and efficiency.
Supports the Manager with staff feedback, workload distribution, task execution, and addressing performance issues.
Conducts training and onboarding for new staff and provides corrective coaching to reinforce team expectations.
Ensures adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and addresses any operational discrepancies.
Trains staff on key operational areas including transfer protocols, equipment handling, order accuracy, and delivery standards.
Executes all standard Warehouse Associate duties with precision, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety protocols within assigned areas.
Manages phone communications promptly and professionally, maintaining a courteous, solution‑oriented approach.
Supports outbound logistics through accurate picking, staging, labeling, and loading of products.
Serves as a proactive safety leader, modeling best practices and addressing safety concerns immediately.
Conducts safety training and routine observations to reinforce compliance and accountability.
Reviews inspection reports, escalates concerns, and recommends safety enhancements.
Responds swiftly to unsafe conditions or incidents, ensuring timely documentation and reporting.
Oversees accurate and timely handling of product procurement and transfers.
Ensures adherence to procedures for pulling, checking, loading, and receiving materials.
Verifies that transfers are processed in the system on the same day they occur and all outgoing transfers are double‑checked for accuracy.
Designated as a safety‑sensitive position, requiring consistent alertness and adherence to safety protocols.
Maintains proficiency in company systems for tasks such as data entry, messaging, documentation, and queue updates.
Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support evolving organizational needs.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, distribution, or related functions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Strong aptitude for numerical analysis and mathematical operations.
Skilled in operating standard office equipment and virtual communication tools.
Physical Demands & Work Environment This role requires 40–50 hours per week and regular physical activity, including:
Frequent lifting (25–50 lbs)
Operating forklifts and material handling equipment up to 6 hours daily.
Regular bending, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and reaching.
Occasional lifting up to 100 lbs and pushing/pulling up to 300 lbs with machinery and team support.
Prolonged use of hands, arms, and feet for equipment operation.
Continuous sitting, standing, walking, and twisting.
