Job Description Summary IMPORTANT NOTE : APPLICANTS MUST be currently enrolled at ULV and have a FEDERAL WORK STUDY award to be eligible for this position. * OCCE – The STEM Education Workshop Leader should have a passion for science, technology, engineering, and/or mathematics, as well a passion for deepening their desire to learn more about social justice and child development. This position is a great opportunity to explore the field of STEM education in a fun and creative way. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, organized, able to work independently and love to have fun with kids. The main task for the STEM Education Workshop Leader will be to prepare a weekly lesson plan and teach a weekly workshop for K-8th grade students. The starting pay for this position is $17.00 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications Must be a current University of La Verne student with Federal Work Study eligibility for the 2025-2026 academic year. Ability to work collaboratively in a highly interactive environment. Good oral and written communication skills. General clerical and organizational skills. Critical thinking and problem solving skills. Takes initiative and a self-starter.

Preferred Qualifications Access to personal computer to complete work-study assignments.

Work Schedule Hours: 1 consistent weekday afternoon, MON – THU , 2:45pm -5:45pm * Besides the Wednesday afternoon workshop time, all other hours are flexible. The STEM Leader will be expected to set a consistent weekly schedule with the Outreach Director, Miriam De La Torre. Students must have their own transportation to and from Pomona Hope.
