Laser/Optics Technician

This contract hybrid role for a Laser/Optics Technician is located in Palo Alto, CA, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Laser/Optics Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining laser equipment, performing laser cutting, and providing exceptional customer service. Daily tasks include conducting laser hair removal procedures, calibrating laser systems, and ensuring all equipment adheres to safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain laser equipment.

Perform laser cutting and laser hair removal procedures.

Calibrate laser systems.

Ensure equipment meets safety and operational standards.

Provide exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

5+ years of industry experience in an optics or photonics lab environment.

Proven experience setting up, calibrating, testing, and troubleshooting photonics test systems or optical components.

Hands‑on experience with optical fiber handling, including fiber cleaning and splicing.

Proficiency with optical and electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, lasers, and optical power meters.

Practical experience with soldering, wire harness fabrication, and electrical assembly.
