Position Summary The Department of Community Medicine and Population Health (CMPH) at the University of Alabama College of Community Health Sciences (CCHS) invites applications for a renewable contract, non‑tenure earning Assistant Professor position. Appointments to the faculty are based on the personnel requirements of the University’s academic programs and on the goal of achieving and maintaining excellence in teaching, research, and service.
We seek a dynamic individual to lead innovative teaching in population health and epidemiology; we are particularly interested in individuals with expertise in sports and exercise medicine.
The Department is committed to applied evidence‑based research and teaching, fostering student‑centered learning and training students to integrate clinical care with public health practices through our master’s program in Population Health Sciences.
Minimum Qualifications PhD, DrPH, or MD with advanced training in sports and exercise science, epidemiology, and population health. Familiarity with the U.S. healthcare and public health systems is required.
Preferred Qualifications Ability to teach graduate‑level courses and engage in graduate‑level advising, mentoring, and teaching excellence in a diverse and inclusive environment.
