Job Summary Leading producer in a position of growth seeks an Electrical Project Engineer / Manager to oversee electrical and automation projects. It is essential that you have solid experience in control systems design. You will be responsible for managing large-scale, complex projects from conception to completion, focusing specifically on the modernization and upgrade of plant control systems. location: Valparaiso, Indiana job type: Permanent salary: $130,000 - $160,000 per year work hours: 8am to 4pm education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

Project Leadership: Serve as the team lead for the automation and process control portion of large capital projects, coordinating resources from internal teams and external contractors.

Capital Project Management: Manage all phases of the project lifecycle, including scope definition, budget management, timeline development, and risk mitigation for projects ranging from 6 months to 3 years.

Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and oversight on control system technologies, including PLCs, HMIs, and associated network architectures. Experience with legacy and modern control platforms is highly valued.

System Integration: Oversee the integration of new control systems with existing plant infrastructure and process equipment. While direct PLC programming is not a core requirement, a strong understanding of controls engineering principles is essential to effectively manage and guide project teams.

Requirements

BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field

5+ years experience managing large-scale, complex electrical capital projects within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment

Demonstrated experience in control systems design and automation projects

Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate project teams

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders

Experience in the steel, mining, power generation, or similar heavy industrial sectors is highly preferred
