The State of Connecticut, Department of Children and Families (DCF) – Albert J. Solnit Children’s Center – North Campus, is accepting applications for one (1) part-time Psychologist (Clinical) in East Windsor, CT. The ideal candidate will be able to conduct psychological assessments and associated report writing in a 34-hour work week.

Part-time | 1st shift | 34 Hours per week Monday – Thursday | 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
In your role as a Psychologist (Clinical), you will have the opportunity to:
Participate in and coordinate clinical psychological services for a complex ward or group of wards or comparable units staffed by psychiatric, nursing or other individual care personnel;
Provide consultation on difficult cases representing complex intellectual, emotional and/or social problems;
Engage in diagnostic and psychotherapeutic services;
Attend staff meetings;
Coordinate psychological treatment modalities with other disciplines and services;
Develop and implement new service programs;
Conduct research and report findings in a manner suitable for professional publication;
Consult with community agencies and organizations;
Conduct training sessions for interns and staff and may participate in training of psychiatric residents;
May address lay and professional groups;
Perform related duties as required.

About the Albert J. Solnit Children’s Center:
The Albert J. Solnit Children's Center - North Campus serves as a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility, providing treatment to adolescent males between the ages of 13 and 17 with complex psychiatric needs. The campus includes: Four coed hospital units, three female adolescent Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility cottages (PRTF), two schools, an indoor pool, playgrounds, ball field, two gyms, recreation rooms, and outdoor picnic area.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
A doctorate degree in clinical or counseling psychology and one (1) year of post-doctoral experience as a psychologist working under the supervision of a licensed psychologist.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with adolescents in psychiatric settings. Experience working with multicultural and diverse populations. Experience with supervising graduate level psychology students. Experience conducting comprehensive Fire-setting, Problematic Sexual Behavior, and/or Violence risk psychological evaluations. Experience conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations of children and adolescents.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Incumbents in this class must possess and retain a license to practice psychology in Connecticut. Incumbents in this class must possess and maintain eligibility for participation in federal health care programs as defined in 42 U.S. 1320a-7b(f). Incumbents in this class may be required to be fluent in a foreign language or proficient in the use of American Sign Language. Incumbents in this class may be required to travel.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Incumbents in this class may be required to lift and restrain individuals or inmates; may have some exposure to communicable/infectious diseases and to risk of injury from assaultive/abusive individuals or inmates; may be exposed to disagreeable conditions.
