Overview

Assembly Team Leader – Maryville, Tennessee, United States. FT position, 1st shift: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm (M-F). Requisition Number: SWI-7348 Location: Maryville, TN

Responsibilities

Manage throughput and drive continuous quality improvements within general Lean manufacturing guidelines. Perform duties and share goals as part of a participative work team. Regularly communicate with the Supervisor, team members, and support personnel on issues impacting product, production, quality, and safety across shifts and departments. Provide input to Supervisor related to budgeting of tooling, materials, etc. Schedule day-to-day work and staffing (vacations/absences) of the work team. Use problem-solving techniques to analyze, identify root causes, and permanently correct problems related to all aspects of cell operation. Provide direct input to Supervisor regarding evaluation of team members’ performance and take appropriate disciplinary action as necessary. Fill in for assigned team members to maintain workflow when needed. Assist Supervisor with leading personnel in day-to-day requirements; conduct team meetings, provide regular performance feedback, and track performance of team members. Assist Supervisor with the supervision of personnel, including hiring and retention, performance management, and discipline. Assist with department planning over a 30-day time span and prepare action plans to achieve results.

Education and Experience

Education/Experience: Minimum – High School Diploma Experience: 1-3 years of supervisory level in Manufacturing (preferred)

Ability to lead and manage a team by training, coaching, and motivating Excellent interpersonal (written and verbal) communication skills Attention to detail Type accurately Prioritize tasks and switch tasks as needed Ability to follow and teach precise processes Ability to be trained to drive and use all types of forklifts Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook WMS/WCS experience (SAP a plus)

Work Environment and PPE

Within any of our facilities, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. Work environment is typical of manufacturing and distribution operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards from moving machinery, confined spaces, vibration, hot temperatures, humidity, odors, dust, and occasional chemical hazards. The following Personal Protective Equipment is required: Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection on the manufacturing floor. Additional PPE may be required as tasks dictate.
