Scope
The Accounting Manager directs a team of accountants and specialists. A leader within the Corporate Accounting organization, this role manages the monthly close and payroll processes and ensures the accuracy and timeliness of accounting data within a defined scope of responsibility. This position reports to the Corporate Controller.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the financial close process through direct oversight of a team of accountants and collaboration with other departments
- Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure results of operations and financial position are accurately stated in accordance with US GAAP
- Direct the accurate and timely processing of payroll
- Oversee the administration and accounting for employee stock compensation and purchase programs
- Analyze accounting data to provide meaningful and decision-useful insights within a defined scope of responsibility
- Exercise diligent staff development practices to develop and maintain a high-performing team of accountants and specialists
- Maintain, and improve as needed, effective and efficient accounting processes and documentation standards in support of accurate and timely accounting data and effective internal controls
- Support quarterly reviews and year-end audits, as needed
- Assist with footnote preparation for quarterly 10-Q and annual 10-K SEC filings, as needed
- Assist with annual budgeting and periodic forecasting within a defined scope of responsibility
- Perform special projects as assigned

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required
- CPA and/or Master’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
- At least three years of management experience
- Public accounting experience a plus
- SAP experience a plus
- Public company experience a plus

May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.
The following Personal Protective Equipment is required:
- Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection required when on manufacturing floor
- The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.

Qualifications
Assist in managing department providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all Company activities that will assist management, its shareholders and other users in making educated economic decisions about the Company's future.
Position reports to the Assistant Controller. All departures from company policies and procedures will be communicated to the Assistant Controller as soon as identified. The Assistant Controller will review and approve work performed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and review journal entries as part of the month end close process
Prepare and review reconciliations of balance sheet accounts as part of the month end close process to ensure financial results of operations are accurately represented and in conformance with US GAAP
Collect and maintain appropriate backup for auditor review and 404 compliance
Participate in the quarterly reviews and year-end audits
Assist in footnote preparation for quarterly 10-Q and annual 10-K SEC filings
Provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
Perform special accounting projects as assigned
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assistance with Springfield operating expense budget
Treasury and cash management functions: Assist with preparation of monthly and quarterly cash forecasts
Assist with development and implementation of a cash management system, including upgrade and/or change of current banking systems
Manage accounts payable department to ensure timely payment of vendors and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Equity: Preparation of quarterly equity roll forward Calculate EPS and diluted EPS Assist with administration of employee stock purchase and RSU programs
Acquisition activity, where necessary: Assist in acquisition due diligence Assist in integration initiatives

Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree Finance-CPA and/or MBA preferred Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting with management experience SEC reporting experience preferred
