Director of Capture Management, Government Services Location:

Wood Dale, IL (virtual performance possible; requires air travel)

Summary:

Responsible for developing and growing the annual operating plan and long‑range strategic capture plans to ensure AAR remains competitive in the market. Identifies and qualifies new business targets, develops win strategies, and builds customer and competition intelligence. Coordinates with operations, business development, and proposal management to deliver compliant, compelling proposals with a high win rate.

Responsibilities

Manage an individual sales pipeline: identify, qualify, bid, and win new business opportunities to meet annual booking requirements.

Interface with customers to discuss requirements, schedules, and capabilities; develop teaming/partnering relationships to maximize performance.

Conduct Business Development Gate Briefings.

Ensure AAR’s competitiveness in the government and defense aviation and logistics markets.

Maintain awareness of industry trends to keep AAR ahead.

Procure new business and exceed existing customer needs.

Promote AAR’s mission, vision, and values.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field; US Military aviation experience preferred.

At least eight years of international and/or federal business experience in the US defense aviation industry.

Current US Secret clearance preferred.

Strong computer skills (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project, CRM, CMM).

Excellent oral and written communication; ability to synthesize and present business cases.

Experience with program management and operations supporting large federal programs.

Customer‑satisfaction focus and ability to develop maintenance of relationships internally and externally.

Negotiation, influence, risk‑management skills.

Team‑work and leadership capabilities.

Deep knowledge of USG and FMS contracting processes and acquisition strategies.

Record of pursuing and capturing $100 M+ jobs.

Compensation The anticipated salary range for this position is $144,231 to $204,117 annually. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for a bonus. AAR offers a competitive benefits package including medical/dental/vision/life and AD&D insurance, 401(k) savings plan with employer match, paid time off and holiday pay, and opportunities for professional development and growth.
