Engineering Manager
We’re partnering with a leading global engineering & consulting firm to hire an
Engineering Manager
to lead an MEP/Building Systems team out of their Dallas office. This is a hands‑on leadership role. You’ll own project delivery, mentor engineers, shape technical standards, and be the primary client‑facing engineer on medium‑to‑large commercial and critical facilities projects.
Compensation Base pay range: $130,000.00/yr – $180,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
Manage, coach, and develop a team of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers, including resource planning, performance feedback, and career development.
Own technical delivery and quality control for multiple concurrent projects from schematic design through construction administration.
Serve as primary technical contact for clients, architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
Establish and enforce engineering standards, review deliverables, and ensure compliance with codes and best practices.
Oversee project budgets, schedules, and staffing; elevate and resolve risks and issues proactively.
Promote and implement BIM/Revit workflows, clash detection, and coordination across disciplines.
Participate in business development activities: proposal strategy, client meetings, and technical win themes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related engineering discipline).
Minimum
8‑12+ years
of progressive MEP design and consulting experience; at least
3‑5 years
in a supervisory or project management role.
Proven track record leading teams and delivering complex building projects (commercial, healthcare, data centers, labs, or similarly complex facilities).
Strong technical competency in system design and integrating architectural/structural constraints.
Proficient with Revit/BIM, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office; experience with project management tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated client‑facing experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Nice‑to‑Haves
Experience with sustainability/commissioning practices and MEP energy modeling.
Familiarity with construction administration (RFI/ASIs/submittal review) and field coordination.
