Base pay range: $120.00/hr - $180.00/hr.

We are looking for a Fractional Managed Markets Lead to join P10. You would be responsible for building and leading the practice area. This is a unique opportunity to shape P10’s approach to payer engagement and access-focused initiatives from the ground up. The role combines deep expertise in managed markets with entrepreneurial vision to establish a new department that will become a cornerstone of P10’s client offerings.

This is a fractional position of 10-15 hours per week. Long‑term, the role has the opportunity to evolve into a permanent position. You will report to the Head of Strategy.

Responsibilities

Practice Building & Client Leadership

Establish and lead P10’s Managed Markets discipline, defining the vision, structure, and roadmap for the department

Build strategic payer communication and managed markets capabilities that complement P10’s existing services

Serve as senior counsel to clients on managed markets strategies, ensuring alignment with brand objectives, compliance standards, and market dynamics

Ensure that P10 teams understand the evolving payer landscape and the implication of payers’ strategy on holistic healthcare communications

Managed Markets Strategy

Advise clients on payer and market access communication strategies, including value messaging, payer engagement tools, and channel optimization

Monitor payer policy, formulary trends, and access dynamics to guide client strategy

Collaborate with medical/legal/regulatory (MLR) teams to ensure compliance in payer‑related content and materials

Contribute to business development by shaping proposals and pitches involving managed markets expertise

Requirements

8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical managed markets, or payer communications (agency or in‑house)

Strong understanding of U.S. managed care environment, payer dynamics, and formulary/access communications; global experience would be an asset

Interest in building or scaling a function, team, or department

Excellent client leadership skills with the ability to simplify complexity and build trust

Entrepreneurial mindset—excited by the challenge of creating new capabilities in a growing agency
