Job Summary The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and operations of all company buildings and properties. This individual ensures facilities are well-maintained, efficient, and compliant with all regulatory standards. The Facilities Manager will manage building systems, oversee subcontractors and service providers, coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance, and monitor utilities to optimize cost and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of all company facilities, ensuring they are safe, functional, and presentable.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for buildings, equipment, and systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
Manage relationships and contracts with subcontractors, vendors, and service providers (janitorial, landscaping, security, etc.).
Coordinate facility repairs, renovations, and upgrades as needed.
Monitor and manage utilities usage (electric, gas, water, etc.) to ensure cost efficiency and sustainability.
Maintain compliance with all building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
Manage facility budgets, track expenditures, and prepare reports for leadership review.
Oversee space planning, office moves, and layout optimization.
Ensure proper inventory and maintenance of facility supplies, tools, and equipment.
Supervise facility maintenance staff or contractors, providing direction and performance feedback.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience managing commercial or corporate facilities.
Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security).
Experience with vendor management, contract negotiation, and budgeting.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Working knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
Proficiency with facilities management software or CMMS systems preferred.
Preferred Skills
Certification in Facilities Management (e.g., CFM, FMP, or equivalent).
Experience in multi-site facility management.
Strong project management and leadership skills.
