Ford Credit Digital Engineering is looking for a Release Train Engineer (RTE) specializing in both principle and practice, with a strong foundational understanding of frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, etc.) and methodologies within Agile program management and delivery. As the RTE, you will work to facilitate transparency across strategic initiatives, portfolio performance, and highly complex, cross‑team, multi‑effort programs. You will cultivate an environment of collaboration between product, design, and engineering that promotes delivering high‑impact and high‑quality work and reduce noise across the ecosystem. This high‑impact role reports directly to the VP of Digital Engineering and works closely with the external leadership team. The primary customers are engineering leaders, product managers, developers, and supporting teams within Ford Credit. Responsibilities
Lead by example by demonstrating our Ford OS Behaviors of Excellence, Focus, and Collaboration. Conduct Agile Release Train operations by serving as the chief coordinator for one or more ARTs, orchestrating all SAFe events including PI Planning, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt workshops, and ART Syncs. Support PI execution by leveraging JIRA, Confluence, and other tools, ensuring data integrity, establishing workflows that track portfolio progress, and addressing impediments beyond a team’s control. Enable Lean Portfolio Management by coordinating the portfolio intake and prioritization process, establishing guardrails for PI commitments, monitoring value‑stream health and flow metrics, and providing transparent portfolio‑level reporting to stakeholders. Scale agile practices across multiple teams by standardizing processes, facilitating cross‑ART collaboration sessions, sharing best practices, and working with LACE to drive consistency and continuous improvement. Foster a performance‑oriented culture by applying an empirical approach to relentless improvement through transparency, inspection, and adaptation, creating a shared vision of success, setting improvement goals, facilitating retrospectives, and coaching teams and leaders. Qualifications
8+ years’ experience in an agile position (RTE, Scrum Master, Agile Coach), engineering delivery management, technical program management, product management, engineering or related area. Experience and demonstrated understanding of multiple modern delivery practices in Agile, Lean, DevOps, Product and Portfolio Management. Extensive experience using, managing, and supporting teams with ALM tools such as JIRA, Confluence, etc. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence the enterprise. 10+ years’ experience in an agile position (RTE, Scrum Master, Agile Coach), engineering delivery management, technical program management, product management, engineering or related area. Previous industry experience in software development at a Finance, FinTech, and/or Automotive company. Relevant industry certifications from institutions like PMP, SAFe, Scrum.org, Scrum Alliance, ICAgile, LCM, etc. A technical background with the ability to empathize with engineers and understand high‑level technical challenges. Experience managing complex programs with solutions relying on cloud‑native technologies and service‑oriented or SaaS based solutions. Benefits
