We are hiring at the SSMA level but will consider an AMA for highly qualified incumbents. This remote-centered position offers flexible work schedule opportunities and is eligible for various professional certifications, such as the Certified Inspector General series, the Certified Public Accountant, and the Certified Internal Auditor!
The Independent Office of Audits and Investigations is seeking multiple highly motivated individuals to work as a Staff Services Management Auditors. Under close supervision of the Senior Management Auditor, the incumbent will perform at an entry level of the series, learning and developing appropriate skills and procedures while working closely with Lead Auditors assisting in the performance of audits of the California Department of Transportation and external entities that receive transportation funding. The incumbent represents the office to the public and is expected to maintain professional demeanor and attire, as well as adhering to appropriate professional codes of conduct. Incumbent must be willing to travel.

Working Conditions Employee will work in a climate-controlled office under artificial lighting and must be able to travel to meetings.
This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of IOAI and is based on Caltrans' evolving telework policy. IOAI supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquarters location, or primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquarters location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
