POSITION SUMMARY The Renovations Technician performs skilled work to renovate resident apartments and various buildings of Channing House. Together with the entire team, your role contributes to promoting a healthy and vibrant home for our residents.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform a variety of tasks including electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, swimming‑pool maintenance, facilities and safety inspections.

Operate power tools used in building improvements and maintain equipment.

Execute building construction, electrical and plumbing work for the facility.

Install carpet and/or flooring and paint as needed.

Adhere to a maintenance schedule and keep records via the work‑order system.

Request and procure needed materials for projects.

Oversee outside vendors and provide assistance when required.

Work with the Facilities Manager to keep the shop organized and inventoried.

Provide excellent customer service to residents.

Assist with resident emergency situations requiring personal protective equipment.

Support all policies, goals and objectives of the Facilities Department.

Respond to emergency service requests and coordinate repair vendors.

Inspect facilities and equipment to ensure proper utilization and maintenance.

Maintain adherence to safety laws and regulations and inspect tools for condition and proper use.

Provide backup driver support during evenings and weekends in urgent situations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

Years of Related Professional Experience:

5 years.

Educational/Position Requirements:

High School diploma or GED; equivalent education and experience accepted.

Computer/Software/Technical Applications:

Ability to use a computer; familiarity with Microsoft Office; knowledge of work‑order and inventory systems.

Languages:

English proficiency (primary); additional languages a plus.

Required Licenses/Certifications/Background:

Journeyman level; background in fire/life safety, carpentry, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems desired.

No direct reports.

Work Environment:

Indoor setting; may work nights, weekends and some holidays.

Physical Demands:

Stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, reach, bend, stoop, push and pull; vision required for detailed tasks.

Compensation details:

$34.86–$45.63 per hour
