Job Overview Michael Kinder & Sons is seeking a dedicated Construction Project Manager with at least 5 years of commercial construction experience to manage a major $35M+ project located on the campus of a Christian university in Upland, IN. This assignment is minimum two‑year onsite, with potential long‑term opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management – Lead overall management of the Upland project from conceptual design through closeout. Establish project goals, work plans, scheduling, resource planning, subcontractor coordination, milestone delivery, and project closeout/warranty work.
Planning & Coordination – Develop project logistics, staging plans; facilitate key meetings (Preconstruction Turnover, Kick‑Off, Progress Updates, Turnover/Commissioning); oversee procurement to align with budgets.
Financial Oversight – Manage project budgets, forecasting, monthly cost reporting; review and issue subcontract awards and purchase orders; monitor labor, material, and equipment costs.
Client & Stakeholder Communication – Maintain clear communication with subcontractors, clients, and internal teams; build relationships with university leadership; proactively resolve issues.
Safety, Compliance & Documentation – Enforce safety standards; manage regulatory compliance; maintain project documentation (submittals, RFIs, change orders); promote risk management culture.
Leadership & Management – Mentor Assistant Project Managers, coordinate with superintendents, delegate effectively, conduct performance reviews, support staff development.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5 years in commercial/industrial construction project management, with experience on large‑scale projects ($35M+ preferred).
Proven ability to manage large‑scale projects and familiarity with construction methods, equipment, and technologies.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Professional experience managing ground‑up projects with a commercial general contractor.
Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, Adobe, and Timberline preferred.
Ability to build relationships with university leadership and community stakeholders.
