Korn Ferry
This Field Service Technician opportunity is located in Portland, OR and offers a base pay range of $22.00 to $28.00 per hour. The role is 90% field-based with real-time troubleshooting and local travel only, and includes overtime, quarterly bonuses, a company vehicle, a gas card, and a $2,500 interest‑free tool loan.
Required Experience
At least 4 years of U.S. Military experience with a Mechanical or Electrical MOS.
Strong knowledge of machine diagnostics, schematics, and technical drawings.
Ability to pass an assessment covering basic mechanical and electrical ASVAB level questions.
Electrical candidates preferred (120‑480V).
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and availability for overtime, emergency service, or weekend callouts.
Personable and professional demeanor with excellent customer service acumen.
Technical Q&A and soft‑skills assessment requirements.
What You Will Do
Diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of industrial equipment, including newer battery‑powered equipment as well as traditional diesel and gasoline machinery.
Conduct diagnostics to identify equipment malfunctions and troubleshoot issues.
Interpret schematics, drawings, and technical manuals related to forklifts and other construction equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and address any issues as needed.
Communicate repair needs, provide estimates, and explain completed work to customers, delivering exceptional customer service and professionalism.
Maintain a clean and professional service van, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
Education and Work Experience
Must have at least 4 years of U.S. Military experience (Mechanical/Electrical MOS required).
