Commissioning Engineer – Amazon Data Center We are looking for a qualified Commissioning Engineer (CxE) to support the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global data center infrastructure. In this role you’ll collaborate with teams across AWS, drive testing and validation of electrical and mechanical systems, and ensure robust commissioning of critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Review design documents and lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT) for electrical and mechanical systems.

Coordinate with third‑party vendors to perform pre‑functional, functional, and integrated system testing.

Provide multi‑disciplinary input into scheduling, test‑script development, and project planning.

Document lessons learned and propose program improvements to enhance commissioning quality.

Manage on‑site commissioning activities and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Maintain comprehensive weekly status reports and communicate progress to stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of engineering, installation, or commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

High technical competency in mechanical or electrical control systems for critical infrastructure.

Ability to review design documentation and provide constructive feedback according to Amazon standards.

Experience developing test plans, scripts, and vendor reports for accurate system commissioning.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and SharePoint.

Strong communication, detail orientation, and organization skills.

Experience developing and executing test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems based on design intent.

Ability to read and edit construction documents (drawings, specifications, control diagrams).

Additional Requirements

U.S. citizenship.

Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the year.

Provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits; reimbursement provided.

Physical Requirements

Walk job sites in uneven terrain; work at heights and from ladders.

Lift and/or move up to 49 lbs; participate in group lifts for 50 lbs or more.

Work shifts longer than 8 hours, including nights and weekends; maintain performance in noisy, low or high temperature environments.

Compensation Base pay range: $105,100 to $185,000 per year (may vary by location). Amazon is a total compensation company that may provide equity, sign‑on payments, and other benefits.
